'Perks' are the special abilities that explorers or companions have. Every explorer begins the game with at least one perk. After each expedition, the player chooses one additional perk.

Explorers' General Perks Edit

After each expedition, the player will choose to add one of these perks to their explorer. Some explorers may also start the game with one of these perks.

Eagle Eye Increased viewing distance.

Explosion Expert Increases the radius of dynamite explosions to 3 hexes.

Fresh Air Fanatic Extra 5 sanity gained when resting in nature. (+8 gain per day without perk, +13 with perk).

Geography Bird Gives additional information about the 4 locations nearest to your starting area.

Good Reputation Start each expedition with +4 standing.
Perk-GunExpert
Gun Expert Guns do +2 damage.
Blessing-InhumanStrength
Heavy Carrier Gain 2 additional inventory slots.
Perk-Impetus
Impetus Fortune Reduces the base sanity cost of travelling (from 5 to 4).
Perk-JungleExplorer
Jungle Explorer Reduces the sanity cost of moving through thick jungle by 4.
Perk-Pacifist
Lone Survivor Survive a little longer when all alone.
Navigator Earhart Increases the gained compass accuracy when uncovering fields.
Perk-OccultVision
Occult Vision Crowley Reveals the location of all stone circles and increases the radius when analyzing them.
Perk-Polyglot
Polyglot Burton Allows player to rest in native villages and improves communication with native people.
Perk-Polymath
Polymath Curie, Lovelace Allows player to choose between 5 perks instead of 3.
Perk-Protector
Protector Adds a defense combat die.
Perk-Ruffian
Ruffian Adds an attack combat die.
Perk-StrongMind
Strong Mind Tesla Increased maximum sanity by 20.
Perk-Waterproof
Waterproof Reduced sanity cost for moving in shallow water by 3.

Explorers' Exclusive Perks Edit

Exclusive perks are unique starting perks. These perks are only available to the explorer who begins the game with them.

Cosmic Indifference Lovecraft Improves usage of the Necronomicon at the cost of lower max sanity.

Healer Huang Feihong Is capable of treating wounds. Grants 25% health regeneration to all non-animal trek members.
Perk-Pacifist
Pacifist Kingsley Reduced aggro chance but can't use Items#Weaponsweapons in combat.
Tactical Mastery Selous Make an extra roll in combat.

Companions' Perks Edit

These perks cannot be chosen by an explorer, and their benefit can only be obtained by recruiting the appropriate companion. These perks usually improve as the companion levels up.

Blessings Edit

The blessings are special perks that can be only obtained by visiting temples at the foot of mountains. In this temple, a selected companion is enhanced by the grace of ancient benevolent forces. Blessings are positive effects and are always permanent and positive.

Holy Marking Receives a strong standing bonus as this person was hallowed by the pagan gods.

Inhuman Strength Enormous strength allows to carry two additional items.
Blessing-Leatherskin
Leatherskin A leathery and thick skin increases the natural protection from any kind of harm (+6 toughness).
Blessing-PureMind
Pure Mind Is immune to any kind of mental ailments.
Blessing-Regeneration
Regeneration Wounds will never become infectd and regenerate much quicker.
